We bid adios to Amsterdam, and board the train for Antwerp. It's
too early for beer, so we go directly from Antwerp to Lier.
Now I'm not saying Lier is a small town (it is), but it's not what you might call a main
stopping off point for tourists, let alone Americans. After a few odd looks, we
managed to get checked into the hotel, and down to the cafe (bar) to wait for Polle.
This is a good place to hang out, first because Polle will show up there eventually
(they serve beer), and second, because it does not pay to be in a hurry in Belgium, and
besides, they serve beer. Good ones at that.
Oh, and did I say we are going to a beer festival tonight? Well, that's tonight, and
this is today, so it must be time for a brewery tour... |

be no pub signs in Belgium were it not for Jupiler.
